1. About the school

Pieter’s Experimental Language School (PELS) is a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands.

2. Enrollment

You enroll in a course by signing up through the website, by email, or by messaging. Once you sign

up, PELS reserves your spot and sends you payment details. Your enrollment is confirmed once

payment has been received. Until then, your spot is reserved but not guaranteed, and PELS may

release it if payment is not received within a reasonable time.


3. Prices and payment

All prices on the website are in euros and are BTW-vrijgesteld (no VAT). When you sign up through

the website, you pay directly through the payment link at the moment of signup. When you sign up

by email or messaging, PELS sends you a payment request (from Knab or Mollie) that you can pay by iDEAL, credit card, or bank transfer. Payment is due within 14 days of the payment request, and in

any case before the first lesson. If you need a formal invoice (for example for reimbursement by your

employer), let PELS know at signup.


4. Cancellation and refunds

Once your enrollment is confirmed, the following terms apply if you cancel:

  • More than 7 days before the course starts: full refund.
  • Between 7 days before the course and the start date: 50% refund.
  • After the course has started: no refund, but you may transfer your spot to a future course of equal value, subject to availability.


Missed individual lessons cannot be refunded or rescheduled, but you are welcome to receive the

materials for that lesson.


If PELS cancels a course (for example, because the minimum number of participants is not reached),

you receive a full refund. If a single lesson is cancelled by the teacher, a replacement date will be

arranged.


These terms are subject to your 14-day right of withdrawal in article 5. During the first 14 days after

enrollment, article 5 takes precedence and gives you a full refund regardless of the terms above.


5. 14-day right of withdrawal (herroepingsrecht)


Because you enroll at a distance — through the website, email, or messaging — you have a legal right

under Dutch law (Article 6:230o of the Burgerlijk Wetboek) to withdraw from the agreement within

14 days of enrollment, without giving a reason.

How to withdraw: send a clear message to [your email] stating that you wish to withdraw. You may

use the model withdrawal form at the end of these terms, but you don’t have to — an email in your

own words is fine, as long as it is unambiguous.

If the course has not yet started: you receive a full refund within 14 days.

If your course starts within 14 days of enrollment: at signup you will be asked to tick a box agreeing

that the course may begin before your 14-day withdrawal period ends. Without this express consent,

PELS cannot start teaching you before day 15. If you tick the box and later withdraw within the 14

days, you pay only for the lessons already delivered and the rest is refunded.

After day 14: only the cancellation terms in article 4 apply.


6. Absence and illness

If you cannot attend a lesson, please let the teacher know by email or message. Missed lessons

cannot be refunded. If the teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach, a replacement date will be

arranged.


7. Privacy

PELS processes your name, email, and course progress only to deliver the course and send invoices.

Your information is not shared with third parties. You have the right to request access to, correction

of, or deletion of your personal data at any time.


8. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with a lesson or the course, please contact Pieter directly at

pieter@pels-school.nl . He will respond within 5 working days and will do his best to find a solution

together with you.


9. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any dispute will be brought before the competent court in

Amsterdam
