Pieter's Experimental Language School
Vision
My vision is simple: to build the most innovative, joyful and effective Dutch language school in the Netherlands. I believe language learning should never be boring. It should be creative, research-based, culturally rich and above all: fun. Not because fun is a nice bonus, but because enjoyment is one of the most powerful drivers of language acquisition. At PELS, I am building towards that vision one pilot at a time.
Building something new
Most language schools follow a fixed formula. I wanted to do something different. After 1.5 years of teaching at one of Amsterdam's most popular and funniest language schools, I decided to start Pels. I saw a gap in the market: a school where the latest research in language acquisition meets creativity, humor and real Dutch culture.
I also believe no school will ever be perfect, because people learn in different ways. But by running pilots, gathering feedback and constantly improving, I want to get as close as possible to what actually works. That is why every pilot is an experiment, and every student helps shape what Pels will eventually become.
Who is behind Pels?
Pieter
Dutch Teacher
After 1.5 years of teaching Dutch to expats at one of Amsterdam's most popular and funniest language schools, I wanted to create something of my own. I saw a gap in the market: a school where serious learning and genuine fun are not opposites, but go hand in hand. I believe no school will ever be perfect, because people learn in different ways. But by combining the latest research in language acquisition with creativity, humor and Dutch culture, I want to get as close as possible to what really works. That is why I run pilots, gather feedback and keep improving - together with my students. PELS is the result of that vision. And this is just the beginning.
